Explore the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive with us and our powerful EBikes (Electric Bicycles). The cliff pass is stunningly beautiful as you wind along the edge of the sheer rocky slopes and watch them plunge into the cold Atlantic Ocean below. The trip is 24km in total with a Coffee/Snack break halfway at the Noordhoek Farm Village, where you can choose from a number of amazing eateries. It’s a trip not to miss in Cape Town. This is the latest offering by Animal Ocean. We are adding this activity to our amazing Seal Snorkeling experience, so you can do both E-biking and Seal Snorkeling from the same starting point in Hout Bay. BOOK HERE
The Route : Chapman’s Peak Drive
Chapman’s Peak Drive is one of the most spectacular coastal mountain passes in the world and an engineering marvel of the time. The planning for the road started in 1910 and completed 1919. The road was cleverly planned with its base on 630 million year old Granite, while the softer Shale was carved away. The pass was closed intermittently between 2000 – 2009 for extensive safety upgrades where rock catching steel nets, bridges and partial tunnels were added to the pass. BOOK HERE
