The Sardine Run is a highlight of my year. One never knows what you will find out on the ocean during this period but the rewards are massive, even life changing. This year we spent a month racing around the ocean tracking flocks of Cape Gannets, pods of Common dolphins and staring in awe at the many Humpback whales that crossed out path. Here is a summery video of some of our experiences.

The sheer scale of this marine action is mind-blowing! Watching the dolphins and gannets coordinate their hunt while trying to spot the whales feels like a high-stakes game of Among Us played out in the open ocean. Incredible footage!

What an incredible experience—watching humpback whales and all that marine life during the Sardine Run must have been unforgettable. It really makes you appreciate how alive and unpredictable the ocean can be. On a totally different note, when I’m taking a break and just relaxing at home, I’ve been playing Rocket Goal during my free time, and it’s a fun little way to switch off for a bit. It’s surprisingly simple and pretty relaxing after reading something this intense and immersive.

The sheer intensity of chasing Cape Gannets diving from the Sprunki sky, following pods of Common dolphins slicing through the waves, and witnessing the majestic passage of Humpback whales creates moments that feel both fleeting and profound.
